Build. Code. Create. Explore.
Bring creativity, engineering, and hands-on learning into your homeschool experience with STEAMWorks! Our homeschool robotics program gives students the opportunity to explore science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (STEAM) through exciting, interactive projects.
Whether your child is brand-new to robotics or already loves building and coding, our program encourages curiosity, creative thinking, and confidence in a fun, supportive learning environment.
-
At STEAMWorks, we believe students learn best by doing!
Our homeschool robotics classes combine hands-on building, coding, engineering, and problem-solving to help students develop real-world skills while having fun.
Using LEGO® Education robotics kits and other age-appropriate materials, students explore a variety of projects and challenges designed to encourage creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Through our classes, students will:
Build & Engineer: Design, construct, and experiment with working robotic models.
Learn to Code: Explore beginner-friendly block-based programming and more advanced coding concepts as their skills develop.
Solve Problems: Test ideas, troubleshoot designs, and discover creative solutions.
Collaborate & Communicate: Practice teamwork, share ideas, and learn alongside other homeschool students.
Explore & Create: Develop confidence through hands-on experimentation and open-ended challenges.
No previous robotics or coding experience is required!
-
Our homeschool robotics programs offer a flexible, hands-on learning experience where students are encouraged to explore, create, and learn at their own pace. Rather than following traditional lessons where everyone completes the same project, students choose from a variety of robotics builds based on their interests, abilities, and experience.
Student Choice & Self-Paced Learning
Students can explore different robotics projects, from beginner-friendly builds to more advanced engineering and coding challenges. Each student can progress at their own pace, allowing time to experiment, practice new skills, and take on new challenges when they're ready.
Build, Code & Experiment
Students use LEGO® Education and other robotics kits to construct and program working robots. Through hands-on exploration, they test their creations, troubleshoot problems, make improvements, and discover how engineering and coding work together.
Instructor Support & Encouragement
Our instructors are available throughout class to answer questions, help students navigate projects, troubleshoot challenges, and introduce new concepts when needed. We encourage students to think independently, try different solutions, and develop confidence in their abilities.
Collaboration & Social Connection
Students have opportunities to work independently or alongside their peers, share ideas, and collaborate on projects. Our homeschool classes encourage communication, teamwork, and positive social interactions in a welcoming environment.
All Materials Provided
STEAMWorks provides all robotics kits, iPads, and building materials needed for class. Students do not need to bring their own equipment, and no previous robotics or coding experience is required.
-
We bring the robotics experience to you! STEAMWorks offers flexible locations for homeschool families and groups throughout Austin and the surrounding areas.
Host a Class at Home: Families can organize their own homeschool robotics group and host classes at a home provided by a participating family.
Meet at a Community Space: Prefer a shared location? Groups can arrange to meet at a suitable community space, such as a neighborhood clubhouse, community center, or other approved location.
Whether you're part of an established homeschool group or looking to start one with other families, we make it easy to bring hands-on robotics enrichment to your community.
Our instructors travel to your group's location and bring all the robotics kits, iPads, and building materials needed for class!

At STEAMWorks, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and welcoming learning environment where every student can participate and succeed.
To help ensure a positive experience for everyone, we ask students and families to review the following expectations.
Student Expectations
Students are expected to:
Treat instructors and classmates with kindness and respect.
Follow instructor directions and safety guidelines.
Use robotics equipment and classroom materials responsibly.
Respect other students' projects, ideas, and personal space.
Participate in activities without intentionally disrupting others.
Ask an instructor for help when needed.
Our Approach to Behavior
We understand that children have different learning styles, needs, and levels of experience. Our instructors use positive guidance, clear expectations, and age-appropriate redirection to support students.
When behavior concerns arise, we generally follow a three-step approach:
Redirect: The instructor provides a reminder of expectations and helps the student return to the activity.
Reset: If needed, the student may take a brief, supervised break or receive additional support before rejoining the group.
Escalate: If behavior continues or creates a safety concern, a parent or guardian may be contacted to determine the appropriate next steps.
Our goal is to help students develop responsibility, self-regulation, and positive social skills while maintaining a productive learning environment.
Equipment & Classroom Safety
For everyone's safety:
Students must follow instructions when using robotics equipment and electronic devices.
Robotics kits and materials must be handled with care.
Students should not intentionally damage, throw, or misuse equipment.
Students must remain in designated learning areas unless given permission to leave.
Unsafe behavior may require immediate instructor intervention.
We appreciate families working with us to create a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
